There were those who thought that the world would end in fire; others said ice. But when the curtain call came its silent armies draped the world in shadow.
Welcome to the Kingdom Hearts themed Open Post, a post all about hearts and the theft of them, timed specifically for a post-Valentines release, because there's no better time to harvest hearts than when they're full of all those delicious feelings! For those of you unfamiliar with the franchise, the essentials are as follows:
Every living thing (people, animals, and even worlds) is composed of a body which acts as the vessel for a heart and a soul. Within one's heart one's memories, feelings, and a precarious balance of light and darkness exist. Should this fragile equilibrium become too skewed in darkness' favor, that person's heart will fall to darkness. This corrupted heart becomes a Heartless . At the same time a Nobody is also created from the separated body and soul if the victim possesses a strong heart and will. Heartless go on to act as a force of darkness intent on consuming more hearts.
A group of exceptionally strong Nobodies known as Organization XIII banded together in order to try create an object known as "Kingdom Hearts," the titular but mysterious object thought to be the source of all hearts. It is a much-coveted source of power that can be created by gathering multitudes of hearts. Another way of accessing it was to unite all the Princesses of Heart to reveal the Door of Darkness, behind which Kingdom Hearts was traditionally hidden. However, defending the "heart of all worlds" are those individuals who wield the keyblade , a key-shaped weapon that possesses the unique ability to combat darkness and free hearts from Heartless. Traveling world to world, it's your duty to protect the Princesses of Heart as well as the hearts of the world and the natives from invading Heartless forces.
It's worth noting that one of the hallmarks of the franchise is the return of familiar faces in new roles. Although basic personalities are never entirely compromised, people you might swear you've known your whole life could be living out entirely different lives on different planets, fighting heartless or building Gummi ships or just being the average person they always wanted to be. In fact, you might find out you yourself have a doppelganger or two walking around.
So! Having survived the end of the world, which side are you on?
Suggested Roles
1. Ordinary Refugee - You're no hero or villain, and there's nothing particularly special about you, but you managed to escape the Heartless hordes one way or the other. You may possess some fighting or magical skills, but that's not going to be enough against more than the weakest of Heartless.
2. Summon - Many non-human and sometimes humanoid survivors with hearts too strong to fall into darkness find themselves taking this role. A summon provides (magical) aid to their summoner, either of their own volition or because they were rescued in a crystallized form.
3. Keyblade Wielder - With the power of the legendary keyblade on your side, you can free stolen hearts, protect the Princesses, defeat the Heartless and restore the worlds to order—or further the imbalance.
4. Princess of Heart - A maiden of pure heart (and not necessarily a princess at all) much sought after by the forces of darkness, these girls used to number only seven but seem to have multiplied somehow.
5. Heartless - Some Heartless are exceedingly intelligent and retain a great deal of their original personality which will certainly aid their efforts, but most are mindless beasts intent on consuming hearts.
6. Organization XIII Infinity - Once upon a time the Organization was comprised of only thirteen members, but certain events have lead to indefinite expansion in the ranks. As a Nobody you lack the morals and feelings that would prevent you from aiding the group's goals or pursuing your private agendas.
7. Another Villain - Sometimes certain crafty individuals can evade destruction at the hands of the Heartless because their hearts are already so entrenched in Darkness. Be careful that the Heartless you command do not turn on you, and beware those pesky heroes.
SUGGESTED SCENES
1. Training - No one is born a hero or a villain; it takes some serious effort to proficiently using magic or physical strength. Perhaps a superior will teach you how it's done.
2. Recon - It's your first trip to a new world, which means making limited and careful contact with the locals, scoping out potential points of weakness, and figuring out how strong any potential enemies in the area might be. Maybe you should take a friend with you until you know what you're doing.
3. Mission - You've got an actual goal to fulfill, perhaps clearing the area of Heartless, challenging a particular individual, hunting for that pesky Keyhole, or collecting/protecting all the hearts you can. Better get to work, the clock's ticking!
4. Enemy Encounter! - Perhaps you and a partner have stumbled across a nest of Heartless, or you've crossed blades with a powerful individual at counter-purposes. What now?
5. Goofing off - Even the most dedicated individual needs a little time off to de-stress. Relax and enjoy just being mistaken for a local for once.
6. Reunited - Not everything we think is gone is really lost to us. You find yourself looking at a familiar face: an old friend, an old enemy, or a lover maybe. But in what condition will each of you be in? Is this an occasion for tears of joy—or sorrow?
7. Under Attack - Someone's in need of a rescue: maybe it's a friend, an enemy, or an innocent bystander. Will you go to their aid—or will you assist their demise?
8. End of the Journey - Perhaps it's time to fight that last battle, or maybe you have defeated that last obstacle. For better or worse, this is it. Before you go, maybe you should say goodbye to the friends you've made. Prepare yourself for that final push; no doubt it will be difficult.
But where's the kink?
It's understandable that some people might need a little more inspiration in order to make this entertaining. If you're not into playing-it-straight as it were, the Love Hotel, with its debauched sense of humor, would like to help give this AU some proper kink. Keys, keyholes and hearts—that's a pretty straight-forward euphemism for sex, right? Ditch the keyblades and reconsider the premise in a sexier fashion. Here are some further suggestions to help get you thinking:
- Using magic drains energy that is only replenished by having sex with an ally.
- Magic itself may be sexually based, or the casting thereof may be sexually pleasurable for an enemy due to a combination of aphros.
- To take a heart requires an act of sexual defilement—debauchery, humiliation, sluttification: pick your poison.
- Restoring a heart requires a keyblade wielder to perform a sexual act with a Heartless. If a Nobody was created from the Heartless's emergence, the keyblade wielder must engage in a threesome for the cure to stick.
- Sealing a heart away is performed by a sex act with a keyblade wielder, perhaps followed by a vow of chastity or monogamy.
- Turning into a Heartless is a combination of sluttification, body modification, and transformation into a lust-filled beast.
- Organization Members and Heartless may find that their powers are related in some way to coercing their targets into submission (ex: hypnosis, mind control, aphrodisiacs) or prey on latent deviancy.
- Purifying a Heartless requires the whole-hearted and willing sexual sacrifice by a Princess of Heart to a Heartless at the risk of corrupting oneself.
- Accessing a World Keyhole requires corruption on an epic scale; think conducting a mass orgy.
- Summons can act as assists either post-battle for sloppy seconds or during battle for threesome action.
- Summoning the door to Kingdom Hearts requires the abduction and sexual deflowerment of Princesses of Heart.
